Exocet Editions contains for the moment 3 boardgames swimming in its fishbowl.

Exocet is who and what ?

Exocet Editions is a family business from Angers, France, a publisher of board games created in the twenties... Of the second millennium! In 2021 to be exact. Exocet is a small flying fish that represents the idea of a game, then two, then eight... It invites players to dive into its jar for a game. Together, they start to tell, share, and laugh.

Its founder is Quentin Alleau, born under the sign of the fish; the desire to create games and then a publishing house gradually came to him from December 2019 during a family tournament in Pylos. In the spring of 2020, Quentin is in Florence, Italy where he invents several games including The Dealer, who was called The Black King at the time of its creation; but also some of the next games like Limbes, Rumeur, Sprint, Volte-Face, Putsch and so many others. In June 2021, he happily embarks his family in his fishbowl overflowing with imagination and exciting games. The adventure begin !

In the Exocet family I would like...

Quentin Alleau
Artistic director

For this creative father, drawing is a kind of starting point for his ideas. He has always imagined concepts, stories, objects. His studies take the direction of plastic arts and cinema, but it is a diploma of stylist-modelist that he obtains. The fun of creating is what he likes the most.

He then decides to take whatever he likes, put it in a jar, shake while dancing and… Tada! Now he invents games. Exocet Editions is a real challenge, an immense pleasure and above all a chance for him to be able to do this with his family.

For Quentin, a game is a way of learning. It's racking your brains together. Memories of games with family and friends that he could talk about for hours include: Cerbère, 7Wonders, Splendor, Chess, Small Murders and Miscellaneous, Gobb’it, Le Barbu, Cyrano, etc.

Apart from fun and thinking, what he also likes in games is when he draws the cards. “Before a draw, I always explain to the audience that a Rider Waite or an oracle is still a card game, and I emphasize the word “game”! what matters is choice, intuition and interpretation. It is perhaps more psychological than divinatory in the end. And the rest are hours of collaboration to read the cards, look for hidden meanings, laugh while telling each other stories, surprise each other and understand each other.

CartoonSophie

Sophie Moreto
Administrative management

As a child she wanted to be a nurse. After completing her studies, she changed paths to help her neighbor in another way. She became manager of a large team and then quality project manager within an insurance company. This diversified background allows him to develop his skills in supporting people and projects to enable everyone to give the best of themselves.

Since she was little too, game evenings have punctuated her life (Belote, Laughing Pig, Tarot, Monopoly, The Sheep War, The Saboteur, Elixir, Dungeon and Dragon...).

While he is in Florence, his son tells him about the games he is inventing. On her return from Italy, she discovers the full extent of her creations and it is with enthusiasm that Sophie agrees to enter the adventure of publishing.

With her pronounced enthusiasm for projects whose answer provokes several other questions, such as during a game of Cluedo, she finds the idea of marketing games brilliant. It reminds him of his preview discovery of Uno in 1990 by his American sister-in-law who brought this game back in her suitcase before it was marketed in France.

CartoonBasile

Basile Barré
Communication, Networks and Web Department

Avide de nouveaux challenges qui touchent à différents domaines, ce tonton high-tech et autodidacte a pour objectif de devenir indépendant. Il est à la recherche de l’excellence pour atteindre l’autonomie.

Digital is a tool that offers him an infinite range of possibilities to satisfy his creativity.

When Quentin offers him to participate in the creation of his game publishing house, Basile accepts with joy: this project mixes management, administration and web, everything he likes, he will be able to have fun! Especially since he sometimes plays video games, which is a cousin universe to that of board games.

He likes to play games like chess, Jungle Speed, Pyramid, Labyrinth, MMORPGs, counter strike and many others. What he loves most about games is winning!

He loves to compete, but he also loves to share his victory, because he loves to work as a team and play with lots of other players, like in a good game of werewolf and LAN-party.

CartoonLudivine

Ludivine Alleau
Commercial management

Despite her dreams of becoming a private detective, an event organizer, a zookeeper or even a creator of all kinds, her pragmatic side led her to the professions of administrative manager and salesperson in various fields. Ludivine is not only pragmatic! She is also funny and playful.

His pleasure in playing translates into different game aspects: laughter as in Privacy NoLimit, concentration as in Cockroach Salad, luck as in Skyjo, cooperation as in Code Names, strategy as in Bang!, discretion as in Kem's, and sometimes cheating if the game lends itself to it. The important thing for her in a game is that there is a strong interaction between the players.

The giggles during Mito's games when there are several players cheating at the same time are precious memories for her, especially when the cards are flying in all directions or when her brother hides one in the collar of his shirt. She loves the complicity that is created at this precise moment of a game. And incidentally she also likes to win!

Publishing games allows him to apply his dormant private detective skills to date by finding partners and prospecting. Exocet Editions also gives him the opportunity to be even closer to his family.

Eager for new challenges in different fields, this high-tech and self-taught uncle aims to become independent. He is in search of excellence to achieve autonomy. After obtaining his BTS in business management and web developer, he became a freelancer and notably developed websites.

Digital is a tool that offers him an infinite range of possibilities to satisfy his creativity.
